Provide solutions for green, safe, intelligent and efficient power grids
The FXM100XDT series is a high-precision SF6 gas density monitor designed for HV switchgear and GIS. It combines a traditional mechanical display with an RS485 Modbus RTU output for remote monitoring.
The FXM100XDT gas density monitors is used to monitor the density of SF6 gas in enclosed containers. It features on-site display and online remote monitoring capabilities, and send an alarm signal when the density value reaches the set points.
The product complies the standard of "QGDW12355_4-2023 Technical Specification for Smart Substation Part 4: Digital Remote Metering"
Via the on-site display, the pressure based on 20 °C [68 °F] can be read directly on the instrument.
With regard to switchgear safety, asset protection and environmental protection, it is common to perform functional checks on a regular basis. Article 5 of EU regulation No. 517/2014 on fluorinated greenhouse gases, provides for checking of the leakage detection system at least every 6 years if it contains > 22 kg SF6 gas. According to the Chinese JB/T0549-2006 standard, the calibration cycle after the product is put into use generally does not exceed one year.
With the help of the firmly welded calibration valve, the gas density monitor can be shut off from the process and recalibrated without having to disassemble it. This not only reduces maintenance time but also minimises the risks of SF6 gas emissions and potential leakages during recommissioning.

Dimensions

1. Why does the monitor measure "Density" instead of just "Pressure"?
SF6 gas pressure changes significantly with temperature even if no leak occurs. The FXM100XDT uses an internal temperature compensation mechanism to convert the measured pressure into an equivalent density value at 20∘C. This ensures that the pointer only moves if there is an actual gas leakage.
2. How does the remote transmission feature work?
The FXM100XDT integrates a high-precision pressure sensor and a temperature sensor. An internal microprocessor calculates the density and transmits the data via an RS485 interface using the Modbus RTU protocol. This allows for real-time, digitized monitoring without manual inspection.
3. Can the FXM100XDT withstand harsh outdoor environments?
Yes. The monitor is housed in a SUS304 stainless steel case and is hermetically sealed to an IP65 protection rating. It is designed to operate reliably in temperatures ranging from −40∘C to +60∘C and is resistant to UV, salt spray, and industrial pollution.
